I have been to the eastern coast of Australia and fell in love with the people, food, culture and scenery. I was very eager to see other part of Australia and experience this beautiful country in a different way.

We flew on Virgin Australia from LAX. We were booked in Premium Economy. This was a great experience. The seats were a bit larger and reclined at a 45 degree angle. There were foot rests. The food was upgrade from what economy was served. There was an open bar with soft drinks, beer and wine at the front of the cabin.

We then flew from Sydney to Perth. We explored Perth the first evening we arrived with a walking tour and a wonderful dinner at a Thai restaurant. The next day we visited Pinnacles National Park. This was about 3 hours from Perth. It would be a must for geology enthusiast but I did not feel it was worth the 3 hour each way. That evening we dined at Nobu which was amazing.

The next day we took a helicopter to Margaret River, which is in the southwest region. The ride took about 1 hour vs. the 3 hour drive. We landed at a beautiful small luxury hotel and had breakfast. We then visited some wineries in the region and stayed on the coast that evening. The following day we visited a truffle farm that harvest black truffles. We watched the dogs sniff out the truffle and the farmer harvest. It was so exciting and educational. We visited a truffle festival that evening called the Truffle Kerfuffle. The food was amazing and involved using black truffles in many dishes. The coast region is the most beautiful scenery with dramatic ocean and cliffs.

After 3 days in the beautiful coastal region of Margaret River we flew to Melbourne. The first night we stayed in the Yarra River wine region which was breathtaking. Then on to Melbourne. We stayed in the beautiful Langham hotel. Melbourne is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited. We had a great walking tour that included a visit to their famous art museum. Degas was the featured artist and I appreciated the famous French artist again. The shopping in Melbourne was incredible. There were little alley ways with specialty shops for everything. The city is very easy to navigate. We loved the food in Melbourne. With the strong Asian influence the Asian restaurants in Melbourne are fabulous. The last day we visited the National Forest famous for Koalas and Kangaroos. It was amazing to see these animals in their natural habitat.

It was wonderful to see this other side of Australia. I can’t wait to send my clients here.
